All contributions have come from individuals who are based in Kenya or abroad. Many have gone on to become repeat givers.

An unconditional cash transfer of either Ksh2,000 or Ksh4,000 is sent via mobile money to every successful requester. Records of recipients are maintained but never publicized.
Public accounting is provided on a regular basis via Twitter; as a precursor to a final audit.

On 23rd March, 2020, Jerotich Seii tweeted about a family in need that had randomly reached out to her for financial assistance. She then appealed to the government of Kenya via an OpEd. What followed was an outpouring of financial support from ordinary people in Kenya and abroad who wanted to chip in.
